Stone work looks very nice, Jeff.  My only critique (and I know you didn't ask for it) was I think the wood clashes a bit with the stone.   so...my critique has nothing to do with your stone ;-)    I think the style of stone would compliment an old piece of wood mantle with some character.

Thanks john. The homeowner wanted this stone, which i was hesitant to do, and we talked about me doing a mantle in concrete, prob. weathered wood, but then he went out and had this one built. He installed it before i started and i feel the same, its to refined, to new, for this. So, ya your right, i wasnt to excited about it either.

These pictures are really washed out to, so the stones are really darker than they look here. Thanks again buddy.

I figured it was one of those home owner decisions.  I'm sure they love it and love it even more because it is what they chose.   So there you have it.  Top notch carving.
