Using the knowledge I've gained from my subscription to "Vertical Artisans" I made some basic tools and started building my mailbox. When I'm done (soon I hope!) the doors will look like wood with little branches sticking out so the mail man can open the doors. I put two doors on it so I can get my mail from the driveway when the snow is too deep. (worked like a charm!) The hinges are flush mount cabinet door type. I needed them to swing on an outward arc so I could maintain some thickness on the doors without hitting the jambs when opening and closing them.
