hey christian, awesome work. Are the colors mainly greys and whites. What brand paints did you use? The greys look very realistic.

Hi Jeff, I used Butterfield color elements.

I first fogged on some green very lightly on random stones, I again randomly used these base colors 

50/50 white and Grey

50/50 White and Kona Brown

50/50 white and taupe

30% black 70% Grey

Straight Taupe

Straight Grey

Straight Kona Brown

I then fogged a little Stygian on some of the rocks

I used an airbrush to fog on some black and quickly hit it with a light spray of water to get the black to settle into the low spots.

 I top coated all of the stones with a sea sponge using a sand colored latex paint watered down 3 parts water 1 part paint. I dispersed that with a fine bristled paint brush.

 

Finally I hit the high points of the stones with a 60 grit sanding block.

wow, they look so real. Im having trouble with the painting aspect of rocks. This really looks great. I love the fireplace with the white wood trim you did also. Great stuff

Ya, i am subscribed and have watched them, but when it comes to doing it, i get mixed up. Just rewatched the painting ones and am going to try somemore. thanks christian
