This may be a dumb question...but...is that solid concrete or is there an armature base?

It has a rebar armature.

No, unfortunately not. Didn't think about that, lol. I just bent number 3 bars in a circle, I think I did three on each end and welded them together with straight ones. Ran the straight ones from one end to the other to tie it all together. Lathed it, scratched and carved.
