I sure did have fun and learned a lot working with Nathan. The mortar sprayer is a great tool to have. It was my first time using it, so you know what is likely to happen doing things for the first time. Not perfect, but excited to use mine as soon as I get a goPro video camera. I have two walls that will be used for training purposes covered in spider lath just waiting to be shot up. The mud goes us so quickly! I want to record myself so I can help get the word out. We are blessed. Thanks for what you do! Hope to see you down here someday. I'm working hard in my shop and can't wait to start building the showroom. Some great ideas are about to become a reality! Thanks, Nathan.

the first time i used the mortar sprayer, we put up about 250 square feet of carving mix in a few hours.  the three man crew, including myself, were on the wall until 2:30 in the morning trying to get all that mix carved.  be careful you don't get over-ambitious with the mortar sprayer.  it is FAST!  you shouldn't expect to carve more than 70 square feet per carver in a normal shift.  Brian, i wonder if your experience with the mortar sprayer is similar.  Being organized is key.

No, Paul. My first experience was just that I wasn't a pro from the go. Wobbly, hesitant, things like that. It's nice to have my first time out of the way though.

how do you like the spider lathe? i'm used to metal lathe. metal lathe is covered under ICC. does spider lathe have a data sheet you could submit to a building department?

Yes.....Better than metal lath and is proven.

My guess is call the main office and have them fax it..I don't have one...but they will provide you with what ever you need.

Hi all,

I spent Friday with Nathan on his Naperville wine cellar project.  WOW! This is the best training possible and a first hand look at the project.  I was able to see all stages of completion from rough framing, electrical, cooling and of course the rock carving on which I concentrated my time .  Nathan your showroom at the cabinet and home improvement shop rocks!!!  You are one smart banker Mr. Clydesdale.....

Mike
