Mark, At present EC doesn't bag their own mix so I kitchen soup it with their materials. You can go on as thick as your wallet allows. I've over engineered it to have a good 5000 psi..... not sure why but I tend to do things that way. I hear Elite Crete is going to have a vertical out in the future. If they do, I'll throw it out here. I'm really hoping it will be in line $ with others. ( A little less wouldn't hurt my feelings either. As you can see on what I did at my booth, I need a little more exercise in carving. Love doing it.
Hi Mark!! I use elite crete material for flat surfaces and also for a thin vertical. With the price point that there materials are at I would say to look at tru pacs from walt tools or vertifaux from specco. Even with the shipping cost of tru pacs you are still very far below the price point of elite crete. Every material has its purpose use them for what they are truly meant for. imo. I do love the simplicity of a single component mix. Elite crete serves that purpose for overlays. I do not like the epoxy by them. Look at APF if you are looking for epoxy. They seem to have the best track record as far as I know. I also know that APF batches material for alot of companies. I am over the concealment of materials. "proprietary blend" Well my counters are a "proprietary blend of about 10 components" The more we now about our mixes the better for all!!!!!!!! Do not be afraid to experiment. Experimentation=$$But you know what you are using and what the products limitations are. Gene don't elite cret products already have a 5000 compressive psi? actually over ? Also a flexural in excess of 1750 psi? They do have a vertical mix and anyone please correct me if I am wrong. Texture pave, thin finish. IMO at $40-$50 a bag coverage 8-10 sf = NOT WORTH IT. Use materials for what there puropse is. SORRY I am on a rage of materials. There is WAY to much hidden private labeling going on with materials without any change from original formulas claiming all these amazing results.,. Jody will testify we met both virgins in this amazing world of concrete. I was "factory certified" to train people on products that I was familiarized with for about a week. DID I learn alot Yes HAVE I learned alot more YES!!!!!!!! Sorry going through a repair of falsely claimed results, so my take on "specialty products is jaded!!!!!!!!!!!!
