This is a non lightweight aggregate mix. You dont need it to be lightweight to hang. This is a dense very workable mix that is twice as hard as anything out there. Watch out, changing the way vertical is done. To be continued.

The green and white bags of mortar mix are what I use for my scratch coat. I add a cup of portland per bag  to make it creamy and raises the psi for thinner applications. I also use it to lay brick right outa the bag... great stuff and it doesnt crack when u need to put it on heavy.

Hey jeff, the moratr mix type n is only about 750psi out of the bag. The cup of cement may raise it to a little above 1000psi. The mason mix is 1500psi out of the bag and is much creamier. It has a higher cement to sand ratio and less lyme so it is stronger. Thats why i use it for my mix. You see less aggregate when working with it.
