Jeff..this is very realisitic!  Love it.  Hey, have you ever heard of a mix called 'custom float?  It's for shower floor bottoms..it's very light.  I've used it playing around with indoor vertical.  I wonder how kurtbag would work with this if a person was wanting very light material.  I'm going to try it.

No michael, never heard of it. I would think you would want a strong solid bottom of a shower, but i dont know. I dont suggest it, but you could, if you absolutely had to have a lightweight mix, put perlite or vermiculite in kirtbag. It greatly reduces the strength, but may lighten it up. Again, unless you are doing a large scale job on a say a second floor of a home, the difference in weight is minimal. Like i said before,if the weight is spread over an entire wall, the load, weight, is spread also. The weight difference between a lightweight mix and my mix is minimal. Please dont get caught up in the word lightweight. Kirtbag has no lightweight aggregate in it and it does just fine inverted and stacked out 4 to 5 inches. It all comes down to what you like. What works best for you.

thanks jeff..I'm just always interested in lighter more workable materials...not trying to reinvent the wheel tho.
