We have around 15K sq. ft. to go! First attempt try not to laugh too hard, I'll get it figured out
Nice tromploi effect. Every raging river starts as a small stream.
Yesterday felt like a step forward and today felt like 2 steps back, I used Butterfield canter yesterday and TruPacX today and I find that I wish Butterfield was 1/2 the price. Next up is Kirtbag and then I'll decide what I'll use to finish
I looking forward to giving a pre-bagged carving mix a go. Ive just been experimenting with different ingredients and coming up with a mix that sort of performs. Haven't been able to develop one that can be built out 5 inches though. All the best for tomorrow.
How long is the stampability on your home-brew mix? Butterfield Cantera completely destroys the others in workability times up to 4 hours-ish but it doesn't like to go thick like the TruPacX unless you layer it. I like nothing to use a release with the trupac though.
Do you think your home-brew mix would hold up on a ceiling ? if so what components do you use, I have a ton of different materials from my pizza oven build
Wow , that is amazing, I have a lot of the products you list here from when I made my pizza oven, you have your ratios listed somewhere and have you had any success with stains or dyes yet?
I only got onto experimenting with this method about 4 months ago. I signed up with the VA curriculum about 5 or 6 months ago when I was in the States and when I got back to Australia Ive been working hard getting the rebar construction and dry stack stone work method down. When I knock this project on the head Im going to start practicing colouring techniques. So at this point I have not tried colouring yet. In Fremantle Western Australia where I live limestone is pretty big and it was a hard sell trying to convince the client to go with another type of stone, that at that point I could'nt even show them an example of, that I have done. Rome wasnt built in a day, it will happen soon.
