this came out AWESOME chad!!i like the  lava flo look about it almost like sumthin you might see in Hawaii  or some other active volcanic area!! sweeet!!

Thanks a bunch Scott.  I was really pleased with our first effort at this.  The client was so happy that she asked me to bid a retaining wall to level off her front yard and then do vertical on it to bring the colors together.  I will be looking at it tomorrow but really have no clue about building the retaining wall.   I've seen that the guys at stonemakers.net pour theirs in place without forms, but i wonder if forms might be better and easier.  plus, i have no idea what their mix design is which allows them to go up without a form.  I think it would start to fall after a foot or so.

again it looks great!! as for the retaining wall could you lay cement block and fill that? it would also give you an excellent base that needs no scratch coat for vert just moisten it or roll on some bonding agent and your off to the races!!
