What do you use for paint or stain on your rock work? How does it hold up to the elements?

Just plain exterior paint. Seems to hold up well for interior and exterior. I'm curious what the difference is with the stains like Butterfield Color or Smiths compared to regular paint ?

I use the Butterfield Elements a lot. I love it, because I know exactly what I am going to end up with. Outside you have to seal it because the colors are not UV resistant. That is the only downfall for me. I have used and been around Proline and I don't care for it. It seems to soak in and disappear way too much. So I wondered how exterior paints work? Do you reduce it down with water?
