As a designer/rock carver in the industry a practiced and skilled stone craftsman can offer many smaller businesses that are “under the radar” of the bigger guys exceptional rock creations and features that can enhance their aesthetics and environs: campgrounds, resorts, smaller retail chains, builders and developers, restaurants, etc. These types are largely ignored and are eager to see what you can offer them that is unique, new and different. Also, think about who you can form relationships with for success. A Landscaper? An Interior designer with a large book of upscale clients? Successful plumbers who are usually being asked how to install a water feature? It is all around you.
There are a lot of important source materials out there that the serious student or someone seeking success in this kind of business needs to be familiar with. I will be offering a suggested reading list of must have material shortly. Look at these books as an extension of your tools.
