Hi Nathan, I am finding difficulty to access your www.verticalartisans.com website from New Zealand. Keeps on showing unable to locate server. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you, Leon.

Hi Leon,

I can try and assist. Can you ping the website.

In Windows, select Start > Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt. This will give you a black window

Enter the word ping, followed by a space, then the domain name.

i.e: ping www.verticalartisans.com

If the results show a series of replies, the connection is working.

Pinging www.verticalartisans.com [209.120.219.49] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 209.120.219.49: bytes=32 time=338ms TTL=51
Reply from 209.120.219.49: bytes=32 time=336ms TTL=51
Reply from 209.120.219.49: bytes=32 time=338ms TTL=51

The time shows you how fast the connection is. If you see a "timed out" error instead of a reply, there is a breakdown somewhere between your computer and the domain. This generally is a DNS issue. If this is the case, I would contact your ISP.

Thanks Justin
Pleasure, finally able to contribute with something I know about! :)
Hi Justin, I've attempted your instructions and get the following:  "Ping request could not find host www.verticalartisans.com. Please check the name and try again." regards Leon

Hi Leon,

This would meant that there is an issue with DNS (looking up the domain to an IP address). Do you connect directly to the internet via your internet provider or are you connecting through a company network, also, can you let me know what OS you are running (Windows - version, Mac).

If you would like, you can mail me directly justin@elms.co.za and perhaps we can do a team view connection (will assist you here) and I can help get this resolved for you.

What you also might want to try is add the site directly into your host file, to do this, please try the following:

Go the the following file and open with notepad:

c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

At the bottom of the file, please add:

209.120.219.49        www.verticalartisans.com

Save the file, close your internet browser and the reopen it, you should then be able to browse the site fine.

Are any one else from New Zealand also experiencing problems with accessing the verticalartisans.com site. It still tells me server not found. This is on our 3G cellphone network and two different Internet service providers. I would love to subscribe to the course, but are unable to get the site here. Thank you.

Have you tried the above...I know other countries from time to time have experienced this issue as well.   I can assure you we are not blocking....but just in case send me your cpu address and I will check it and un block it if it has been flagged.

I am also considering putting data up on this server for the public to purchase.

Hi Nathan as far as I can see my IP address is 192.168.1.2

OK .. I will check this IP

Please goto this address

whatismyipaddress.com and reportback

the IP you gave me is not your IP

Hi Leon,

Did you ever try adding the URL into your host file as I suggested above? This would definitely connect you through to the server.

Justin
