Yes this totally reminds me of the wind swept sandstone we have here in Southern Utah.

You would have to put your mud on really thick to get that depth though.

very cool oryan! thanks for sharing. you could get a similar effect from using thick foam and spraying with laquer thinner wich eats the foam in various ways similar to this than spray with a masonry coating. time consuming no doubt but could look pretty cool. also another way would be to pack handfuls of rocksalt into the mix and wash out when dry. you wouldnt get the depth but some really cool voids at least!!

You can get big 4'x4'x8' foam billets for starters, then use a hot knife for some initial deep carving. Shoot, for that matter you can fire up the chainsaw! Then like Scott said, solvents can be misted or squirted or blotted on to melt more texture as well. There's lots of techniques to experiment with for cool textures with solvents. Then you can spray thinned polymer overlay mix through a hopper to coat it all. All yous guys interested in some further research here can check out www.demandproducts.com .

kenny, yes i have dun the rock salt technique for voids it works great and leaves really cool lookin almost natural looking voids!!

thanks for the link here david really cool stuff!! i so wish i had the money to get set up with not just this but quite a bit of the other tools and stuff out there man.......things i would do........
