Orofino's big event every year is the Orofino Lumberjack Days / County Fair. (http://www.orofinolumberjackdays.org/) It's a volunteer group (OCI) that puts it all together and the prizes for the professional loggers and funding for the group is primarily though donations from local business, which are auctioned off one dday during the event (free beer is provided hours before, during and after the auction... to help grease the skids, so to speak). Anyway, the population of our small town grows about 7-fold during the event, so besides being a good way to show community support, it also puts our work in front of thousands who might not otherwise see it.
