Terry I think it`s great to be your first wall. Hope mine will come close whenever I get my hands on  one of those light cement bag mixes. One curiosity, which I see happens to me and many people when doing say some deco mortar work: unless one is aware and very careful, our mood, and/ or level of inspiration can vary from one day to another. So one day`s work may be slightly different from the prior`s. Do you notice the different pattern of the last portion you did?, where stones are bigger, more square and so on. I think it`s interesting to notice the realtionship with different moments... Best regards.

Nelson, I'm not sure about mood maybe more fatigue than anything. I'm in the car business so moods really aren't an option for me. I've had to be upbeat and positive every day I walk out the door for so long that it just comes second nature. Don't sweat the small stuff and someone always has it worse than you do :) is a great way to go about life.  I feel I got better with each bag on design and I tried to use Nathans techniques and follow his guidance I learned from the videos to keep things to scale across the wall.

Alfred, weird angles and crazy stones may look unnatural to some people. The great thing about this art is that you can do whatever you like or the customer requests.

Alfred, four ways are when four stones meet at one point like an intersection. There is nothing wrong with it but a real stone wall probably would not have them and they are Very easy to put in even when you do not want them. Three ways are the same but only 3 stones which is natural. If you subscribe to the artisans channel you will learn all about this and how to do this craft. I joined about a month ago and look forward to what I can do in the future. I like taking ordinary and making it extraordinary just like the Jeeps we do.

hey there terry i liked your answer to nelson on the mood thing i would also like to throw this out there that outside corners lend themselves to  square and rectangular stones not to say you cant have an irregular stone shap on an outside corner but that our sub concise will almost always steer us in a square or rectangular shape. so with your mind in that direction the surrounding stones tend to be of similar shape until you get further away from the corner. i have seen this in many many works. but its not really "un realistic" either if a stone mason were building a wall he would almost definetly use the squarest and truest rectangular  stones he could find laying them in interlocking ways for the strongest corner he could build.
