Ken and I have been on jobs together sporadically through the years. Weve worked together for some real crooks and worked together for guys aspiring to be crooks lol. I always have alot of fun with Ken.

Ive done some wood carves with concrete, but the epoxy is so more realistic, and gets so very strong. Colors are insanely rich and vivid. Nice idea.

What is your definition of a crook? What is your going rate for carving? By sq ft or by hour. This last job was easy and I got $50.00 and hour on their books. Maybe it needs to be more. I don't know enough about these systems and what it takes to put up such a structure. Did you work with Architect and Engineers? Contracts would have to be implemented so everyone goes home happy, so as to come back.
I have never seen such realism in any other product.  I believe what you guys do is an art, its scarce in the general population and price needs to be as such.  What other products compare to it?  Its just bad ass.

Next week I am meeting with old friend who has home owner that wants to do some cool stuff. He owns some businesses and wants a moult with water fall going around his house.  I need to promise him the stars. Need your guys number?

August it depends on what your offering. Design, equipment, etc. Depending on the job there is usually an architect involved which in some cases is a joke with this kind of work. Most of my "and Kens" work is out of state so travel and perdium must be paid as well "this is covered in your square footage price.  Square footage price depends on volume of work. Also ceiling work is higher priced. I NEVER go work for a General Contractor by the hour. Theres a reason they are hiring you. Working hourly they will probably make 100-150 dollars per hour to your 50 off your work.

how do you keep the apoxie scupt from looking plastic ?  Do you buy it by the pound ?  Part a part b right?

Beth,I was telling August that I've used Apoxie Sculpt for scale models. Its not even close to what you would want for tree work.

perhaps we only worked together on low budget concrete trees up 'til now!...like the freebie trees we whipped out at Lake George! I seem to remember visiting your shop about 18 years or so ago(?) and thought you were playing with some epoxy for your mounts... or was it polyester-resin? Long time ago.  At first we were trying Devcon epoxy experiments, then found Polygem who eventually made 307 just for us zoospores! Life got better. Hope to nurture another sapling to maturity with you sometime soon---K
