Very nice Nathan as usual. Would 2" mortar be thick enough to carve out this style stone, provided one could paste over a bit more where needed for sticking out portions and so on? I`m doing my own mix due to lack of proprietary products down here. That may justify the otherwise dumb question.

That seems to be about the average thickness, maybe a little more on outside corners.   The "extra" material you speak of is explained in great detail on the Vertical Artisans subscription site.   This styling is very fun and extremely popular and profitable.

I`ve been working on that style of yours as well others. Likewise, I`ve manage to come up with a mix that can hold up to about 3", and for now it`s working ok considering all sorts of obstacles encountered; notheless, thus far I feel really happy with the achieved results. Long way to go though.. Thanks.
