I used durarock for the backer. I used primer throughout the whole process. I have done some small sample pieces with this and checked for moisture penetration. None. The primer is essentially skinning over creating a moisture barrier. After coloring I used a 2 part urethane applying 2 coats within a 12 hour window. Hope this helps.
Eric its no problem at all to get it 2" with the sprayer I was going to call you this evening. I am still here with Thom in Nebraska and we are adding on to the studio. I hope this helps, let me know if you need anything else I will be glad to help.
Good day, I picked interest in you after going through your short profile and demanding it is necessary for me to write to you immediately. I have something very important to disclose to you, but I found it difficult to express myself here, since it's a public site.Could you please get back to me on (ronaldmorr001@gmail.com) for full details. Best regards,

I Have been using tru pacs for my carving. For the skims I have been making my own.
I used a medium density foam block. I carved and then overlayed.
The campfire was made with blocks so we covered them with plaster. The fire will be on top so heat will not damage the plaster.
