I am new to this site and to what all of you do. WOW, you guys have some serious talent. I have viewed many videos and am very interested in trying some of this out on my home.

I will be ordering many things on Monday. I hope to have fun with it. I want to learn a lot and quickly.

Not sure what all the different chemicals are being used for though. The ones in the five gallon buckets. They really don't explain all that.

I just want to get what I need, I don't want to purchase items and waste them.

Well, thanks for having me and good luck to each of you in all you do.

welcome!! glad your pumped and ready to learn!! just remember that this usually comes with a bit of practise. and i am by no means any kind of pro but i can tell you that a sample board is the way to get started! not sure what chemicals your refering to as the only thing that comes close to chemicals that you will need is stain for coloring and most stains are organic and water base type now and are not realy chemicals. there are acid stains but you dont need those especialy not in five gallon buckets. all you need is your practise board, some scratch coat cement, and some vertical carving cement, water and all your tools and texturing items mats, rollers, sponges, brushes etc. and thats it!!give it a go and post your stuff ! give any of these guys and girls a holla if you need some help! good luck and hope to see some pics soon!

I think what he was referring to in 5 gallon buckets is the bonding agent.  Glad to hear he is interested in vertical work.  Dude just go get some sand , portland, and some acryl 60. Go to the local concrete store and ask them for it.  2 sand 1 cement mixed with diluted Acryl 60 3-1. And start throwing it up. PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE!!!!!!!!

Now that being said. LETS SEE SOME PICS

I ordered some tru pac. you mean there is another way to make this pliable cement? I have a lot to learn for sure.

not sure what you mean by 2 sand 1 cement. Is that 2 equal parts of sant to one bag of cement? then put in some acryl 60?  I really appreciate the formula. I am goint to try some vertical work this weekend. I ordered lot of stuff from wal tools. Hope to get some pics after i get some work done. Any help is really appreciated. I am just starting out so any input will be helpful at this point. keep your pointers coming in. Thanks guys for all your help.
