Good idea. How does the detachable side attach to the column? How did you hide the attachment method?

It just slides into place and is supported by the existing wall at the based and and fixed with 4 screws into each of the wooden support frames. The screw holes and the joint are just filled lightly with overlay and pressed in using a brush prior to colouring. I've left slight indents at the holes for easy location.
