Anyone have any experience with making shower walls/basins out of concrete? I was hoping to remodel mine but am concerned about waterproofing or sealing the surface. I wanted to keep it rather smooth with a fine rock texture. Any product recommendations? Thanks and glad to be a part of VA forum.

Don, thanks for the info. I've been tracking this product but I am more concerned about moisture seeping through the concrete and weakening the base coat and possibly loosening the bond not so much water making it's way through the substrate. I was curious to know if anyone is using a top coat sealer over the stain and if so, what kind?

Use an integral waterproofing agent in the mix like xypex or kryton and no  leaks or wicking through

Perfect, that sounds like what I need! Thanks again for the info.

For the final sealer this stuff is incredible ,I use it to treat finishes on salt pools

I just went to the west side class, and in there we used, and not sure of the spelling, but some stuff called cem kote. You put it on after your scratch coat. 2 layers. There's also something nathan uses cal thermoseal.
