lol, I just sent my message somewhere! Anyway, no, I haven't found any mix yet. I've been so excited about it ever since I seen I stumbled upon the youtube video! Dude I love all your work! I've showed it to my wife also and she thinks it's awesome too. I built a storm shelter in my backyard and had already dry stacked a bunch of river rock but just finished it 2 days ago. But my first initial idea was a pond with a waterfall which I had done quit a few years back but couldnt afford a liner and used black poly so of course it started leaking about 3 years later so I tore it all out. Now I would like to use the carving mix on it but I need to practice before trying it.

Thanks for the info Scott. Have you tried flex-c-ment? The reason I'm asking is there's a place that sells it about 25 miles from where I live. I was planning to order tru-pac because of what I have heard about it but if this flex stuff is any good it would be great for me because of the location. Or I guess it would anyway. Would you suggest I go with tru-pac? Not to question you to death I'm just excited to get started! lol

Thanks Scott, I appreciate you're advice man. I'm sure there will be many more questions when I finally get a hold of some! When I do finally get some practice in and feel like I can handle it I'll post pics of my backyard project to see if I can get some input on what to  steer away from.

I noticed on your bedroom project you made the rock on the left and right side bump out like it maybe for setting a candle stick perhaps? Don't feel like you have to answer that if you're keeping it for a surprise. Also the center stone above looks like it protrudes out further than in the earlier pictures. Either way it looks great I was just wondering if it was the light source that made the difference.......and thats my last question for now lol!!!  I promise no more for the night!

Hey Adam, like Scott said, there are alot of good folks on here to help somebody get started and progress. Mixes comes down to many factors, most of which are minor.  Get the hang of the process first, then you can find a mix that fits your style, budget, etc.  Good luck and don't be a stranger on the forum.

you are coorrect on both accounts! the ledjes on the lower stones on either side will hold candles. and the "key stone" in the middle top of arch was built out to give it prominence. i was going to do it on the first run but didnt even think about it till later when i stood back and took a long look! lol!
