2016 - A Year for Innovations

Over the years, the industry has produced many nice innovations for decorative concrete. The Stone Matrix --- The Awakening of Vertical Decorative Concrete

The Stone Matrix --- The Awakening of Vertical Decorative Concrete

As a decorative concrete trainer I have seen many people take courses and learn a great deal about vertical decorative concrete over the last decade.    They come from all walks of life which was a great surprise to me personally as I was under the belief that most people interested in the craft would be from the decorative concrete realm.   However, this was not the case as there is a wide and diverse pallet…

Kirtbag Carving Mix

Hello all. Now that everyone is back from The World of Concrete, I know your pumped up about doing some vertical concrete carving. Regardless of what you saw being done there, the mixes being used are still WAY expensive to buy. Kirtbag is the MOST AFFORDABLE and BEST PERFORMING mix for the money. You will spend on average $21-$23 for Kirtbag when you figure in the type s mortar and shipping. That's around 95lbs of mix for for half what the competition charges. No mix stacks up to Kirtbag…

We're on our 5th year and the jobs I've seen in person that have been up for years still look like they were done yesterday. The goal this year is to be in as many stores as we can…

Mining cave shower

Hello Vertical Artisans -- just posted new photos of the completed 6'X8' walk-in mining cave shower connected to our mining cave rec room. The shower features brushed nickel fixtures, a LED rain showerhead and 100 yr old weathered boards for a blocked off tunnel effect used throughout the mining cave rec room. The floor is Turkish river stone done by a master tile installer from Germany, the only outside help I used on the whole project due to knee problems. It was a tricky floor to complete…

Thanks Jeff, so do you. I do not know if I will be able to make it. I have never been to it. I would really like to go. It depends on work and scheduling. I even have places to stay down there with old paramedic classmates. I hope I can.

I love that beach-entry job. Not many people get those highlights into their coloring work. Your details couldn't be better. Do you mind my asking what color system you use?

Thanks for the reply. If the time comes to take your colors to market, let me know, you'd have a quick sale. A guy can never have too many colors or textures. I agree with you about those greens being a bit tough. We could all use a pool like the one you created. I'd love to ponder my next project while sitting in that environment, with my beverage of choice...

Jeff, I don't know what's up, but all of a sudden I can't sign in to the concrete artist's network. It says "oops, there's a problem", and when I go to reset the password, it says it has sent me an e-mail, but I never recieve one. I've tried several times for about a week now. Any suggestions?

I appreciate whatever you can do. I added AVG anti-virus/spyware, and thought maybe it was doing something, but I couldn't see any blocks. I'm not very smart with this stuff though. My e-mail that it said I was sent something to is setinstonedesign@hotmail.com. Some really cool stuff has been posted, and I hope I can get to it soon.

Webinar Success!

Posted on April 4, 2009 at 8:17pm 0 Comments

After attending several of these online webinars it has got me thinking. Vertical concrete in it's self has definately come a long way in the ten or so years that I have been involved. Even though we are just getting our feet wet with thes "live discussions" I can see a definate trend towards learning, teaching and just getting the public to better understand what we as concrete artists do. I would encourage everyone on this network to, at the very least, sign in and listen. I think once we all… Continue
