recent photos of my first project

Thanks all for the great compliments on my first project.



the stones vary from 1.5" to 3". about 4 stones we built up to 4". doing the window and door headers was a challenge. had to build just an inch, carve joints and scratch. then lay next inch on top. otherwise it peels off. the carving mix was quickcrete mortar with Tru-pac additive from Walt Tools.

Started practice board

I've made roller and trowel texturizers from packing peanuts, pearlite, and texture skins which I also made from silicone. I've ground down pool trowels to the size I think would work well, made wedges, and scratch coat scratchers. Ordered some foo-foo from Walttools. Picked up a drill type hand held mixer.

 

I finally started my practice board and this stuff is fun! I've got lots more practicing to do before I start my planned projects at home, but with Nathan's video…
